As part of the Dan River Basin
Association’s stream monitoring program, the
Martinsville-Henry County Rivers and Trails Group is helping
to train volunteers in biological monitoring methods
sponsored by Virginia Save Our Streams. These methods
include categorizing and counting the different species of
benthic macroinvertebrates, which are bottom-dwelling
organisms that can be seen with the naked eye. To learn more
