Defend the Dan: Oppose the Landfill
REGISTRATION IS CLOSED FOR THIS EVENT! Come out to Protect Our Drinking Water! Dan River Basin Association invites you to the Defend the Dan: Oppose the Landfill event on Saturday, September 29th from 12:30 p.m. -- 4:30 p.m. at the Gov. Morehead Park, 422 Church Street, Eden, NC. Be part of the solution. Say "no" to garbage trashing up our river and neighborhoods, decreasing property values and jeopardizing clean-water jobs. 100% of proceeds will benefit DRBA's Stewardship Fund, which is paying for legal opposition to the proposed landfill. There will be music by the Troublesome Highway Band, BBQ lunch, tea/water and beer. Bring a lawn chair and join us in the park for food, fellowship and fun! Tickets are $75 each. The first 50 ticket buyers will be invited to join a paddle on the Dan River to see the proposed landfill site the morning of the event, put-in will be on private property. Details will be provided at the time of ticket purchase. Interested others will receive a $10 coupon off a trip on that section of the river at a later date. For tickets: (336) 627 6270 / (336) 627 6260 or nbell@danriver.org Sponsored by: MillerCoors, Troublesome Highway, Three Rivers Outfitters and Dan River Basin Association.
