November 1, 2016 (Rescheduled from October 11)
5:30pm-7:30pm
Henry County Administration Building
Kings Mountain Rd., Collinsville, VA 24078

The training, funded by the Harvest Foundation, will focus on monitoring for the presence of E. coli in streams and tributaries of the Dan and Smith Rivers in Martinsville-Henry County, VA.  Volunteers will learn the appropriate sampling and testing methods for coliscan monitoring which is the most cost effective and VA DEQ approved method to monitor for E. coli.

The purpose of this training is to recruit and train volunteers for the 2016/2017 Water Quality Monitoring Program in Martinsville-Henry County, VA. Those wishing to volunteer as year-long coliscan water quality monitors will be required to partner with another volunteer to collect, process and plate a sample from their site once every month in order to measure for the presence of E. Coli.

If you are interested in this training and as a year long monitor, RSVP to Krista Hodges (khodges@danriver.org, 276.634.2545).
