WATER QUALITY TRAINING

October 28, 2013

Dan River Basin Association in partnership with Department of Environmental Quality will hold a water quality training session on October 28th from 1pm-2pm at Patrick Henry Community College in Martinsville.  The training will help citizen monitors learn how to effectively monitor a stream for the presence of E. coli and other harmful bacteria.  Monitors will also learn how to identify colonies of E. coli and other coliforms using the Coliscan Easygel medium.  The Coliscan Easygel method is an effective and accepted way to allow anyone to do effective testing without expensive equipment.

Anyone interested in training needs to sign up by October 25th.  If interested, please contact Krista Hodges, Education Outreach Coordinator, at khodges@danriver.org or (434) 250-0292.  Class size limited to 30 participants!
