Full-Time

Education Coordinator

DRBA is seeking a full-time Education Coordinator to support environmental education programs. This position will be located at DRBA’s Martinsville, VA office.

The Education Coordinator focuses on delivering engaging, hands-on watershed and environmental science education for schools and community audiences. A key responsibility is implementing the Green Leaves project in Martinsville/Henry County elementary schools and working with educators and the Director of Environmental Education to develop and deliver curriculum and programming about the Dan River watershed. The role also includes leading classroom presentations, workshops and community programs, assisting with outreach efforts including social media and education materials and supporting citizen water quality monitoring and volunteer coordination.

The ideal candidate has experience or training in environmental science, education or outreach, with strong communication, organization and public engagement skills. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and the ability to thrive both independently and on a team. Comfort with outdoor activities and proficiency in basic digital tools are expected, along with a valid VA or NC driver’s license.

 

Education Coordinator Full Job Description

Salary is commensurate with experience and within funding parameters ($25K - $35K). Additional benefits include stipend for health insurance, 20 personal days, 12 holidays and potential flexible schedule.
