Member's Third Saturday Outing & Potluck

October 20, 2018
10:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Third Saturday Outing for DRBA Members (and invited guests) ONLY!
October 20, 2018

This year we will hike on the farm where the remains of the first DC electric generating plant can still be found. Built in 1916, the system was designed and built to provide electricity for the Town of Stuart. While the turbines are long gone, hikers will see the hand dug tunnel that diverted the Mayo River and the flume that directed the water to drive the turbines. This is a 1.5 mile, high-moderate hike, for those who would rather not hike, you can visit the Apple Dumpling Festival in Downtown Stuart or just hang out at the house as you enjoy the company of friends and a stunning vista of color. Bring your favorite dish for a potluck supper around 5:00pm. Wayne and Betty will grill the usual hamburgers and hot dogs entree and provide all the the beverages and paper products.
