Epic River Experiences for Youth Ages 11-13 this summer!

Epic River Experience 2022 - The experience of a lifetime!

Sponsored by the Community Foundation of the Dan River Region

For youth who reside or attend public school in Danville, Pittsylvania County and Caswell County.

The Epic River Experience is an education, recreation and stewardship adventure for middle-school youth between the ages of 11 - 13 that will become a memory for a lifetime. Provided for youth who reside and/or attend public school in Danville, Pittsylvania and Caswell County, the river experience will include hands-on environmental education programs. Participants will rotate the following learning stations during the Epic River Experience: Water Quality, River Ecology, Water Safety and Intro to Paddling.

By providing four rotating activity stations during the Epic River Experience, DRBA will host 48 youth each day, for a total of 96 students. Preference will be given to youth who 1) Have not had a previous experience being on or near a river, 2) Have an interest in environmental protection and/or recreation and, 3) Provide a letter of reference from a teacher and/or parent.

Hard copy of application is available for anyone who doesn't have ease of access to a computer.  Application period opens March 1st. All applications must be completed online or returned to DRBA by May 13th, 2022.
