Location:
From US 220 exit onto Smith Road (SR 1360).
Turn west (left) on Smith Road. Go 4 miles to T
intersection with Anglin Mill Road (SR 1358).
Turn west (left) on Anglin Mill Road. After 1/2
mile turn left on Old Anglin Mill Road (SR
1385). Go 1/2 mile to T intersection with Mayo
Beach Road (SR 1359). Turn left and go one mile
to south end of Road.
Description:
This beautiful section of the river features a
number of Native American rock fish dams. Along
the way are large rocks and lots of areas for
stopping and sitting in the sun. There are also
many simple Class I rapids. The NC 700 Bridge is
about 5 miles below the put in.
