Apple Dumpling Festival 5k Run/Walk in Downtown Stuart, VA

Apple Dumpling Festival 5k Run/Walk is on October 18th, 2014 at 8am in Downtown Stuart, VA.  The proceeds from the race benefits DRBA and trail development in Patrick County.  Race is presented by EMI Security.  Packet pickup is on race day from 7 - 7:45am in the parking lot associated with the Patrick County Food Bank.  Registration is $20 until October 3rd and $25 after October 3rd and on race day.  For questions contact Race Director, Rebecca Adcock at or 276-229-9917.

Mayodan Mountain Bike Trail Building, made possible thanks to REI! Sign up. Help build the Mayodan Mountain Bike Trail at Farris Memorial Park!  No experience necessary, but any shovels, rakes, gloves, mattocks that trail builders are willing to bring are much appreciated. We have several trail building days planned. To sign up for any of the scheduled work days, just CLICK HERE. All volunteers DURING REI DAYS receive a DRBA T shirt or a cookout lunch with our hearty thanks! We'll have plenty of snacks and beverages on hand as well for all the volunteer days.

Restore River Access Project

Volunteer opportunity:  Help is needed to restore a river access that has been used for many special activities; the banks of the access are beginning to wear away and repair is needed by moving several large rocks to help alter the flow of the river and deposit sediment back along the bank.  To help, contact Krista Hodges at
