Good Stewards Presentation on Fracking

Good Stewards of Rockingham County is hosting a fracking presentation at Rockingham Community College on Monday, October 26. The public is invited to this free event. Room 105 of the RCC Advanced Technology Center. Program begins at 6:30 p.m.

Come out to celebrate, learn, and strategize on June 20th! The fracking permit moratorium was lifted by NC Legislature, but lawsuits, lousy gas prices, and statewide resistance have turned the rush-to-frack to a fizzle. This event will have live music, workshops on citizen monitoring, a potluck lunch, an update on where fracking stands in NC, and time to socialize.Show up anytime after 10 AM. Program starts at 11 AM.  Location: 1790 Hanging Rock Park Road Danbury, NC 27016.

This May and June, the Dan River Basin Association (DRBA) and Thomas Day House (TDH) are hoping to give voice to the Dan River through oral history interviews with Caswell County residents. If you have a story, please email to express interest in participating in this project! Space is limited and interviews must be scheduled in advance. Everyone and everything has a story, so tell us yours of the Dan River!

Mini BioBlitz Fun, Educational Success

On Friday, May 1, 2015 the Dan River Basin Association hosted a Mini BioBlitz at Angler's Park in Danville, VA. With special thanks to Danville Parks and Recreation for allowing us to use the Park and trails and Galileo High School teacher Jason Gibson for lending his expertise and the helping hands of his students, the blitz was a great success.

And contact House Environment Chairman Rick Catlin to ask him to schedule this bill for a hearing in Thursday’s Committee meeting!  You can also ask your own County Commission Chairman to contact Representatives to ask for their support. (Your County Commissioners’ contact info should be easy to find on line under your County government website.)
