URGENT ACTION NEEDED IN ROCKINGHAM COUNTY - Disapproval Bills have been introduced in the N.C. House and Senate for the Mining and Energy Commission's (MEC) inadequate rules on fracking. Current rules ignore setback language for frack zone and aquifer, a particular concern in Rockingham County because some of our shale - where natural gas could be mined - is just below or at the surface.  Moreover, setbacks from the river, homes and public buildings are grossly inadequate. ACTION: (1) Call Representative Bryan Holloway and THANK HIM for adding his name as co-sponsor of House Bill 76 to disapprove of MEC's fracking rules. Rep. Holloway's number is (919) 733-5609. (2) Call Rep. Bert Jones at (919) 733-5779 and URGE him to support House Bill 76. (3) Call Senator Phil Berger (919) 733-5608 and ask him to support Senate Bill 72. Your voice is powerful! Take just a moment and make the call.
