POSTPONED - Banister River Flotsam Flotilla

The weather forecast for Saturday predicts thunderstorms off and on in the morning and the afternoon in Halifax, Va; therefore, we are postponing the Flotsam Flotilla until June (date not yet set). You may have recently received a reminder email about the event - please ignore that message. It is postponed.

Join the volunteer clean up - Flotsam Flotilla on the Banister River! The event coincides with the 11th Annual Earth Day Estravagnaza in the charming and historic Town of Halifax, Virginia. So let's make a day of it!

First 25 registrants will recieve a free T shirt and all participants will experience the joy of a river clean up.

What to wear: Dress in synthetic fabric, be prepared to get wet. Although the trip is not technically demanding or hazardous, all boaters will be asked to sign a waiver with the Dan River Basin Association and with the outfitters. Recommended minimum age is 12 years old accompained by a parent or legally responsible adult. Please note that everyone must register who is participating in the cleanup. Minors must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian. 

What to bring: Bring lunch and a dry bag for anything you wish to keep dry on the river. Be sure to bring plenty of water. A change of clothes might be nice for when you get off the river.
