Wild & Scenic Film Festival Comes to the Dan River Basin!
Join us for an evening of relaxing at home while you're transported around the globe watching award-winning short environmental films at DRBA's (virtual) Wild & Scenic Film Festival.
The films include a compilation of award winners and crowd favorites from the 2020 Flagship Festival in Nevada City, California featuring the Kids Jury selection for Best Children’s Film and the Peoples Choice Award Winner.
Considered one of the nation’s premier environmental and adventure film festivals, this year’s films combine stellar filmmaking, beautiful cinematography and first-rate storytelling to inform, inspire and ignite solutions and possibilities to restore the earth and human communities while creating a positive future for the next generation. Festival-goers can expect award-winning films about nature, community activism, adventure, conservation, water, energy and climate change, wildlife, environmental justice, agriculture and more.
DRBA is partnering with the South Yuba River Citizen's League (SYRCL), a grassroots organization based in Nevada City, California, that has been building a community to protect and restore the rivers of the regional watershed, from source to sea, since 1983.
The Wild & Scenic Film Festival puts DRBA's local work into the broader environmental and social context and serves to remind people that they all are participants in a global movement for a more wild and scenic world. The Wild & Scenic Film Festival goes on tour around the country and DRBA is excited to bring it here to our region. ,
