VA Save Our Streams Training - Field Day Session

Become a VA Save Our Streams Monitor: Start the Online Certification Now!

To become a certified VA Save Our Streams Monitor, there is a two-step process. The first step is an online certification and the second part is a field day training session held by DRBA and IWLA.

The online certification consists of three webinars. The webinars may be completed at your leisure, but must be completed prior to the field day training session. The three webinars are: Introduction to Water Quality, Introduction to Macroinvertebrates and your region's Field Training Introduction.

Once the webinars are completed, you must complete an online certification registration form and pass an online exam to earn your Online VA SOS Certificate!

About this Event
VA Save Our Streams (SOS) is a fun way to test water quality by collecting and identifying underwater insects, called macroinvertebrates. The Izaak Walton League is partnering with the Dan River Basin Association to provide a workshop for those who wish to become a certified VA SOS Monitor and have their data utilized by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality.

This is the second step in becoming a VA SOS monitor.  Attendees must complete the online portion of the certification in order to attend the field day session. Space is limited - early registration is recommended for the field day session.  To register to attend the field day session click here:  https://www.eventbrite.com/e/vasos-benthic-macroinvertebrate-field-training-rocky-bottom-tickets-308994008397
